Most demos show an AI answering the easy, obvious question — the one worded exactly like the FAQ entry it's pulled from. Real customers rarely ask things that cleanly.
The real test is the rambling, oddly-phrased, slightly-off-topic question that still needs the right answer buried somewhere in your policies or catalog. That's where a shallow chatbot falls apart and a properly grounded one keeps up.
